Dr. David M. Joynt, Senior Pastor

We are grateful for the leadership, inspirational preaching and spiritual guidance provided by David. Since 1997 David has been active with planning worship, preaching, teaching, and helping members grow and find places to belong. 

His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics from Lehigh University, a Bachelor of Arts/Master of Arts in Theology from Oxford University, and a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary in Theology and International Politics. davidj@pctr.org

Victoria A.P. Pruner, Associate Pastor for Children and their Families and Administrative Coordination

We are blessed that Tory has been sharing her uplifting and hopeful style with us at PCTR for many years.   Tory joined the staff in 1987 and oversees our Children’s Ministries and works with our Youth and Adult and administrative operations. Tory has a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Elementary Education from Cedar Crest College and her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. toryp@pctr.org

Scott A. Thayer, Associate Pastor for Congregational Care

 

Scott joined PCTR in January 2010 and comes to us with a wealth of experience that and a wonderful sense of Calling. Scott has had experience and training in Alpha, Stephen Ministry, caring for caregivers, and has been directly responsible for Pastoral Care, Deacons, Evangelism, Discipleship, Missions, Development of Community Life and large church ministry.

Scott received his M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary and earned an M.A. in Marriage and Family Ministries from Talbot School of Theology. He graduated Cum Laude from Hope International Univ. with a B.A. in Business Management, and has utilized that background as a Marketplace Chaplain in recent years, in addition to his church position. sthayer@pctr.org

Jim Pruner, Teacher in Residence

Rev. Jim Pruner joined the PCTR staff in September, 2011 as a part-time teacher for Adult Education. Jim leads the Thursday Morning Bible Study, the Sunday morning Enrichment class and assists with new educational programs. Jim has led many adult seminar classes at PCTR and is a popular and inspiring teacher.

Josh Melson, Minister of Music

We are blessed by Josh’s accomplished musicianship. He brings a fresh and exciting approach to music in each of our worship services. Josh joined PCTR in 2006 as Minister of Music. Josh directs the Sanctuary Choir, Onevoice, the Chancel Handbell Choir,  the Senior High Choir, and the Junior and Senior High Bell Choirs. Additionally, Josh plays the organ and piano in worship and works closely with the other Music Ministers to plan and lead worship. 

Josh received a Bachelor of Music degree from Centenary College of Louisiana and a Master’s Degree in Music from The University of Kansas. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate at the Institute for Worship Studies. He has previously served churches in Kansas, Missouri, and Louisiana. joshm@pctr.org

Michael Barozzie, Minister of Music

We are truly blessed to have Michael on our music staff. Besides writing and performing original Christian music, Michael directs the “Sounds of Truth” instrumentalists and vocalists, who perform the music for the Saturday Celebration service; directs the Star Club Choir, the Aim Club Choir, and the Junior High Choir; plays for the Church School, leading them in song for their yearly Christmas program and other special musical events throughout the year; and directs the music for the church’s annual Vacation Bible School. He also participates frequently in Sunday worship, at special services and puts on a summer concert of original and popular Christian contemporary music. His first CD “River of Life” was released this summer. Michael attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he studied music as a vocal major. michaelb@pctr.org

Karin Gargone, Music Associate

Karin Gargone completed her studies of pipe organ performance and sacred music as well as Germanic Languages (MAT) at Indiana University.  She has served several churches in Monmouth County, Indiana, California, and abroad.  For twenty years Karin was principal accompanist and organist for the Monmouth Civic Chorus.  She is full-time music faculty at Ocean County College, and an active member of the American Guild of Organists.
