Stories of Faith Come Alive During Church School
For children ages 2 through 5th grade beginning on Rally Weekend – September 10th & 11th
During services: Saturday at 5:00 pm; Sundays at 8:30, 10:00 & 11:30 am
As families are worshipping children are invited to join in the fun of learning the stories from the Bible. Children 4 years through 5th grade begin their learning as they worship together. Children’s worship includes great songs, prayer requests and prayers, offering and children’s message based on our lesson. Then off to class where children experience the story in a variety of ways. Using Augsburg Fortress curriculum, the passages are presented in vivid images with age appropriate questions, puzzles and games reinforcing the great truths of faith.
Our 2 and 3 years olds are taken to their classes by their families before worship. They discover a room filled with toys, books, puzzles and even a sand box. They hear Bible stories and make a craft to reinforce learning.
Once a month we encourage families to worship together for the first part of the service. Following the “children’s sermon” the children leave the Sanctuary with their teachers and the message is further explored. We use drama, service projects, crafts and even a annual sporting event to bring to life what God wants us to know to live our lives out in faith.
