How do we grow in groups? For one thing, relationships are formed in groups – caring, supportive relationships that can help us better navigate grief and other struggles. It’s in these groups that we can find common ground, encouragement, and courage. It’s in these groups that we can reflect Jesus’ unconditional love and compassion for those that are hurting.
Grief Share
Grief doesn’t follow a predictable pattern or fit neatly into a textbook definition of what loss should look like. As we try to navigate life after the death of a loved one, we can feel isolated and alone. This is the space Grief Share steps into. This weekly group offers support to people grieving the death of a loved one. It’s a place where you can be around others who understand the pain of your loss and how you feel as you come to terms with it.
Grief Share, created by nationally recognized grief experts and rooted in real-life stories, offers valuable insights, encouragement, and questions for you to process as you make your way through your own grief journey. Groups meet throughout the calendar year in 13-week sessions. Each week offers a different self-contained topic so you’re welcome to join a Grief Share group at any point during its meeting cycle.
Stephen Ministries
We all experience challenges in life and sometimes, when those challenges are great, we could benefit from having the support of Stephen Minister, a person who is trained to walk alongside us through those struggles. Stephen Ministers are carefully selected volunteers who complete 50 hours of training to equip them to provide emotional and spiritual care.
Stephen Ministers are committed followers of Jesus Christ who listen, care, pray, support, and encourage their care receivers. Their ministry is confidential, keeping the identities of their care receivers, as well as shared concerns, and conversations with them private. If you think you could benefit from meeting weekly with one of our trained Stephen Ministers, contact the church office at 732-349-1331 or complete the form on the contact us page.
Prayer Team
Prayer is powerful. While prayer is part of our time together in all our groups, the Prayer Team meets regularly with the sole purpose of praying together for our community, for our church, for each other, and for specific submitted requests. They also pray individually as requests are received. Confidential prayer requests can be submitted to the team by completing the form below.
