The Story: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People
The “Greatest Story Ever Told” is more than just a cliché.
God goes to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting people.
That is what The Story is all about—the story of the Bible, God’s great love affair with humanity.
This study will align with the Sermon Series from October through May
Join us for this amazing church-wide adventure! On Monday nights as we read and discuss the amazing story of God, starting in the fall and ending in the spring. The weekend sermons (October through May) will also be on the concepts in each chapter – giving us even more opportunity to hear and to respond!
If you have never read the Bible – Join us!
If you have read the Bible a few times – Join us!
The Bible is alive with God’s Word to us.
Join us to see what He is helping you to understand anew!!
Condensed into 31 accessible chapters, The Story sweeps you into the unfolding progression of Bible characters and events from Genesis to Revelation. Using the clear, accessible text of the NIV Bible, it allows the stories, poems, and teachings of the Bible to read like a novel.
And like any good story, The Story is filled with intrigue, drama, conflict, romance, and redemption—and this story’s true!
“This book tells the grandest, most compelling story of all time: the story of a true God who loves his children, who established for them a way of salvation and provided a route to eternity. Each story in these 31 chapters reveals the God of grace—the God who speaks; the God who acts; the God who listens; the God whose love for his people culminated in his sacrifice of Jesus, his only Son, to atone for the sins of humanity.” – from the foreword by Max Lucado and Randy Frazee

Believe: Living the Story of the Bible to Become Like Jesus
Editor: Randy Frazee
Every believer needs to ask these three questions:
WHAT DO I BELIEVE?
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. – Matthew 6:21
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?
Run in such a way as to get the prize. – 1 Corinthians 9:24
WHO AM I BECOMING?
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;
apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15”5
Grounded in carefully selected Scripture, Believe, NIV is a unique spiritual growth experience that takes us on a journey to think, act, and be more like Jesus. General Editor and pastor Randy Frazee walks us through:
- the ten key Beliefs of the Christian faith
- the ten key Practices of a Jesus-follower
- the ten key Virtues that characterize someone who is becoming more like Jesus
Each chapter uses short topical passages from the New International Version to help us live the story of the Bible. As we journey through this Bible as a small group, one simple truth will become undeniably clear: what we believe drives everything.
Everyone is welcome!
Join us on Tuesday mornings for a time that includes Bible study, discovery questions, and discussion. This is a great time for learning more about living out our faith.
Thursday Morning Bible Study
Starting in April
9:30 a.m. in the Mission Room
Team Led by Bill Pabst, Iver Kennedy, Sue Halsey, Amy Lotano, and Dan Raisch.
Christianity isn’t a philosophy, a set of ideas. It isn’t a path of spirituality or a rule of life. It isn’t a political agenda. It includes and indeed gives envergy to all those things, but at its very heart it is something different. It is good new about an event which has happened, an event because of which the world can never be the same again. And those who believe it and live by it will never be the same again either. This is Paul’s message to the Corinthians-and to us today.
Everyone is welcomed to join us! Coffee and goodies are shared each week!
