Children are a vital part of our ministry at PCTR. The words of Jesus, “Let the little children come to me,” are our guide as we seek to provide opportunities for our children to know and love our Lord. We also take great joy in supporting your efforts as parents/guardians as you walk with your children on your family’s faith journey.
Children are invited to attend Church School each weekend as well as midweek programs where a caring, committed team brings God’s Word to life. Children learn, play, sing, and pray together—in a loving, Christian atmosphere—building relationships with others which will take them into their adolescent years.
Perhaps one of the most important elements to our children’s programs is allowing the children to offer their praises to God. Children have the amazing ability to praise with everything they have – something that we are all called to do. Whether their praise is in song or in prayer, they bring joy to the Lord and those around them!
As parents, God is counting on us to bring our “little ones” to the Lord. There is a children’s group to match every age, and newcomers are always welcome—at any time during the year. Don’t hesitate! Sign up today!
PCTR Church School experiences begins with children attending worship with their families. After a brief time in worship, children are dismissed to gather for age-appropriate, Bible-based lessons and activities. Using Orange 252 – a wonderfully fresh and interactive curriculum – Bible passages are presented in vivid images with age appropriate questions, puzzles and games reinforcing the great truths of faith. And the learning doesn’t end there, as there are take home sheets and a website which families can use to keep these important conversations happening all week long! Church school is available during the Saturday 5 pm, Sunday 9:30 am, and Sunday 10:30 am worship services.

AIM Club is a fellowship group where children can come and be accepted as themselves. Through Bible study, choir, recreation and snack, AIM Club helps children discover they are each a Child of God. They begin to know the strength of the Lord. They are ready to face each new day and embrace it with a readiness to love and serve.
The AIM Club children also make up PCTR’s Children’s Choir. After preparing songs during AIM Club each week, the children offer their “joyful noise” to God in worship. This choir sings several times during the year and participate in a Christmas Eve Service. This gives the children an opportunity to explore their own musical gifts, as well as to witness what God can do when we blend our voices together.
Through AIM Club children have fun, meeting new friends, playing games (where being a good sport means more than winning and learning the amazing stories of the Bible.
Disciples’ Communion is a program designed to help students prepare to join their families in receiving communion in worship. Each spring we invite our 3rd – 5th graders and their parents/guardians to participate in this journey of preparation.
As a part of the process, parents/guardians and students meet with PCTR staff members. Families are given materials to facilitate discussion as they seek to develop a greater understanding of this sacrament. We hope you will plan to be a part of this very important faith-step for your son or daughter.
In addition to these programs, there are countless additional events spread throughout the year. Check our website and /or PCTR’s App frequently to stay informed regarding upcoming activities that your family won’t want to miss!
