Sing with the Christmas Choir!
You are invited to join with the Sanctuary Choir to learn the music and sing in our Christmas Joy Concert! A number of singers from the church and community have done this the past few years, and have found it to be a great musical experience. Here are the details:
We will rehearse concert music during the second half of Sanctuary Choir rehearsals, beginning on Thursday, September 21. We will begin this music at about 7:50, and rehearse until 8:30. About five weeks before the concert, we will extend rehearsals until 9:00. We will have a dress rehearsal with orchestra on Saturday, December 9 from 9:00-12:00. I will email each week to remind you of that week’s rehearsal schedule. We hope you will attend as many rehearsals as you can, but understand when conflicts arise.
The concert will be on Sunday, December 10 at 4:00 p.m.
This year’s music is slightly easier than in years past. The large portion of the program will be Benjamin Harlan’s “A Child This Day,” which contains both traditional and new settings of texts for Christmas and Advent. We will also sing a number of wonderful carol arrangements, including Dan Forrest’s “See Amid the Winter’s Snow” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” and Donald Fraser’s “This Christmastide.”
Singers of all abilities are welcome to join us- you don’t even have to read music! If you are interested in singing, contact Josh Melson ([email protected], 732-349-1331 x228).
