A meeting of the Congregation and Corporation of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at approximately 10:20 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The purposes of the meeting will be: to receive the report of the Nominating Committee, to elect Elders and Deacons for the class of 2024, and to address such other business as the Nominating Committee may bring forward.

Our Special Needs Ministry Teen & Young Adult Group meets regularly on the 2nd Friday of each month. On January 10, come ready to stretch and learn some basic martial arts moves with our friend Mr. Jason. Volunteers are encouraged to join us and share in the fun!

As we try to navigate life after the death of a loved one, we can feel isolated and alone. This is the space Grief Share steps into. This weekly group offers support to people grieving the death of a loved one. It’s a place where you can be around others who understand the pain of your loss and how you feel as you come to terms with it. A new session begins January 14 at 10 am.
KidMin Tuesday is back starting January 14 at 4:45 pm. We pack a bunch into Tuesday afternoons with our elementary-aged friends. We start with time to play together, then we get into smaller groups to talk with our friends and leaders about Jesus. And of course, there’s snack time, too!

Need some warmth in winter? More light for the darker days, and peace from the world's hustle and bustle? Join us for our Contemplative Prayer Workshop in the Sanctuary at 7 pm on February 3. This interactive guided workshop provides a shared time for quiet prayer and private reflection as we consider various aspects of our life with God.
Join with members of the Sanctuary Choir to learn music for our Spring Concert. The concert is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, and will feature favorite patriotic songs accompanied by a full orchestra. It takes a lot of candy & plastic eggs to host our annual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt - 8,000 stuffed eggs to be exact! You can help make it happen by donating candy from the list in the Welcome Center between March 9-30th. Please note, we need individually wrapped, single serving sized packages of the following candy which has been selected to avoid common allergens: Skittles, Starbursts, Double Bubble Chewing Gum, Hi-Chew, Jolly Rangers, Swedish Fish, Sour Patch Kids, Laffy Taffy.

On Palm Sunday we remember the fanfare and jubilant welcome of Jesus as he rode into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey for Passover. At this somber worship service, we remember the Last Supper and read through the scripture detailing the final days of Christ’s life from the Passover meal to his death on the cross. Join us for this unique and moving candlelight service on Thursday, April 17 at 7 pm.
Travel through the last hours of Jesus’ life and reflect on his death and sacrifice through this tactile, self-guided experience in our sanctuary. Stop by any time between 9 am and 1 pm on April 18 and take as long as you need to work your way through each prayer station.

If you’ve got an excess collection of reusable shopping bags, help us support Pop the Trunk by building up their stock of bags! Each week, Pop the Trunk, a drive-through food pantry in our parking lot on Friday mornings, gives 3-4 bags of food per household to hundreds of households. They’re in need of bags to keep up with the demand. Bring them in to the Welcome Center any time between now and June 15.

Our Human Trafficking Awareness team will be distributing literature to restaurants and hotels in Ocean County. The materials, provided by local officials, provides information about support services and safety to those who may be or may know a victim of human trafficking. Volunteers are needed to help distribute the materials on the evening of July 21. Training will be provided and groups of 4 will travel from PCTR to various locations.

We pack a bunch into KidMin Tuesday afternoons with our elementary-aged friends. It’s why we’re excited that it’s back as a regular part of our weekly schedule starting September 23 at 4:45 pm. Our next series of Contemplative Prayer Workshops will be October 6, with a focus on learning from Christian thought leaders and their insights about contemplation and other aspects of the prayer experience. These 1-hour workshops start in the Sanctuary and sometimes move into the garden.

Every Friday morning we host “Pop the Trunk,” a drive-through FulFill food bank. On November 21, Pop the Trunk will be giving away turkeys and other components of a Thanksgiving meal! Volunteers are needed to help pack and distribute! Join us in the parking lot on 11/21 (or any other Friday!) at 7:30 am to help sort food and distribute bags. Bring warm gloves (those frozen turkeys can make your hands cold!).

As we try to navigate life after the death of a loved one, we can feel isolated and alone. This is the space Grief Share steps into. This weekly group offers support to people grieving the death of a loved one. It’s a place where you can be around others who understand the pain of your loss and how you feel as you come to terms with it. A new session begins January 13 at 10 am.
This January we will have the opportunity to prep and pack over 100,000 meals with our partners, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) MobilePack, and we need YOUR help to do it! This foundational course is for anyone who has questions about the Bible – whether you have been reading the Bible for years, or you are thinking about getting your first Bible. We will spend four weeks answering questions like: Is the Bible reliable? Where do I start reading? How do I read it? What is the difference between the versions of the Bible? Does the Bible apply to us today? How do I read and study the Bible?

Our concert choir is getting ready to start rehearsing for this spring’s concert (May 17) and we’re looking for new voices to join us! No audition, all welcome! At this solemn worship service, we remember the Last Supper and read through the scriptures detailing the final hours of Christ’s life from that Passover meal to His death on the cross. Dress for the weather and bring a chair or blanket to sit on if you wish. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend to watch the sunrise over the river and attend worship with you.
We’ll have two opportunities to worship at a Contemporary Service on Easter Sunday (4/5). Join us at either 8:30 am or 10:30 am. At these services, music will be led by our band, which includes guitars, keyboard, bass, and drums. Music in our traditional service is led by our choir, and will include organ, piano and brass. The service includes a thought-provoking, biblical, gospel-centered message from one of the pastors. Registration is now open for our Women’s Retreat on April 17-18. This year we’ll be taking a closer look at what it means to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit.
